The village of Chernopolye is stretched along the highway, running from Simferopol to Feodosia, in 5 km from Belogorsk. 175 years ago the Greeks from Rumelia built it. They called the village Karachol (Black land), because the land around the village was black and fertile.
The Greek Cultural Ethnographic Center looks like a replica of an old Greek mason of the 19th century. The guests of the rural ethnographic museum can learn about the life, customs and traditions of the Thracian Greeks in Crimea, and take part in a folklore festival.
The hospitable people of Chernopolye are always glad to meet the guests. You can join them in rousing Greek dancing, learn their songs and taste the dishes of their national cuisine.
